These cabinets are equipped with the working systems:
- Salt spray “SAL”
- High Humidity “CON”
- Aeration “AIR”
SAL/CON table top test chambers
The SAL system is strictly separated from CON/AIR by a PLC,
so the high humidity test will not be interfered by salt spray under
no conditions.
Whereas conventional combined cabinets are primarily made for
conducting salt spray tests and hence are well insulated.
However, high humidity tests requires heat losses thus there is a
permanent intensive condensation of the vapour. This goalconflict
has been eliminated by our unique design of VLM
corrosion test cabinets.
We do not apply immersion heaters but surface heaters mounted
below the bottom of the chamber. Compared to conventional full
plastic chambers the heat conductivity of the ECTFE-coated
bottom of our cabinets is far higher. Hence, the water bath is
heated up very evenly compared to our high humidity cabinets.
The second unique feature is the double-shelled roof the table
top cabinets are standardized furnished with. This insulates the
chamber during the salt spray test . However, when the high
humidity system is working ambient air is sucked through the
inner space of the roof in order to take the heat from the chamber
away.
The patented CWC-System the table top cabinets are furnished
with allows to control the temperature in the upper part of the
chamber thus there is constant controlled condensation aof the
vapour. Consequently these cabinets offer most reproducible
climate conditions for high humidity tests as well as for salt spray
tests.
The table top cabinets can also be furnished for conducting
Kesternichtests simulating industrial pollution climates with SO2.
The CWC-System is also available for chest type HD models
provided the stainless steel system has been selected.
The combined cabinets can be upgraded easily only by
exchanging the control box into one with a PLC, thus cyclic
corrosion tests such as VDA 621-415 can be run automatically.
SAL/CON chest models HD
These cabinets are supported by a robust stainless steel frame
and therefore offer best predonditions for heavy specimen which
can be loaded into the chamber by means of a jack. For that
reason the acrylic glass cover can be opened very wide.
Opening resp closing is supported by gassprings.
The testsolution reservoirs of 130L or 210 L capacity can be
placed on the right hand or left hand side of the cabinets.
Cabinets for the reservoirs are available as an option. In case
there exists a central testsolution supply the cabinets can be
equipped with an automatically working testsolution feeding
system comprising a 16 l intermediate reservoir.
SAL/CON chest models EC “Economy”
These cabinets are designed for every day use. They are
economically priced and thus meet small budgets. However, this
does not mean any renunciation of the high quality standards
VLM stands for. The walls are made of polypropylene and so is
the whole body besides the bottom.
This is made of stainless steel coated with ECTFE a fluorine
polymer commonly used in chemical engineering. Therefore the
chamber can be heated up quick and evenly as well as the HD
chests.
